The Hair Wharf opened at its current location in June 1976. John Gattucci had a vision to open a salon by the water when he stumbled upon Katonah and fell in love with this wonderful storybook town. Some years later, his wife Carol joined John in the salon. Although you will still see John and Carol working in the salon, the salon is presently managed and run by their daughter Jessica Morrison.
John grew up in an era of rock and roll and all things natural. His vision was one that would not impose glitz or pretension so upon entering the Hair Wharf, you’ll be greeted by feelings of warmth, laughter, and home. You will find on any given day fresh coffee and items homemade by clients and friends. Additionally, you will experience excellent quality hair styling, professionalism, and caring attention to make your look be something that you will not only love but know how to handle when you get home.
The salon uses only the best products with a range priced from low to high end. The staff although not related has a feeling of sisterhood and it is not uncommon for clients to be shared throughout the salon. Education is a big part of who we are and we go to classes, workshops and various academies for the latest training.
